Organic Gourmet Delivery
Organic gourmet delivery is a new service that is growing by leaps and bounds all over the place. As people started to learn how great organic foods are -- and how good they are for your health -- the demand has grown to provide fast, easy ways to get that food on your table.
The good news is that smart entrepreneurs noticed this -- and have begun to give you many different ways to get the organic gourmet foods you want delivered right to your door.
What you want, when you want it -- what could be better than that?
Organic produce is usually where most people start. You want fresh greens and vegetables for your meals, and in order to do that, you need speed; you want it to get to your table as soon as possible after it has been picked or harvested, because fresh vegetables and greens have a short shelf life; the life force literally leaves the product within hours or days of being picked.
You want to serve and eat it while it still retains as much life force as possible, so that your body has the benefit of it. That means they have to get it to you fast! And they can.
Gourmet food delivery comes in many varieties these days. First, there are new services set up to get you fresh-picked greens and produce quickly. Most of the time the sources will be local organic farmers; the further away you go to find your greens and produce, the more expensive it will be, and the more loss of life force and flavor you risk the longer the goods are in transit.
For example, you COULD get fresh organically grown spinach flown in from New Zealand in January -- supermarkets are doing that already -- but you are going to pay a premium price for it. What if you could buy the same variety of spinach that was grown locally in an organic farm hot-house? Wouldn’t that be fresher and less costly to ship and buy?
Secondly, you could sign up for a share in a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), where you pay a fee to a local farmer, who distributes the harvest weekly among all shareholders throughout the growing season, usually at a central distribution location. This is a great way to support your local organic farmers, and to get the freshest food you can find without growing your own.
For some people, the downside of using a CSA exclusively is that you never know what you’re going to get each week; some weeks there might be things you don’t like or need, or not enough of the ones you want. The advantage of these challenges, though, for someone who likes to experiment, is to come up with meals based only on what you receive in your weekly CSA shipment -- it’s guaranteed to take you into territory with which you are unfamiliar, and to get your family to try new things. Some people enjoy this challenge, while others would prefer to only buy favorites elsewhere and play it safe. It’s up to you, and what you prefer.
Thirdly, you can find organic gourmet companies that deliver great prepared foods to your doorstep. We have a whole section devoted to online and mail order gourmet foods; not all of them offer 100% organic products, but many of them offer SOME organic products in their inventory, or at least use some organic or natural food ingredients.
Fourth, in some areas, you can hire a personal shopper to buy your groceries for you and deliver them to your home. Of course this adds to the cost of your food, but it can be worth it in exchange for the time you save.
As consumers demand more and more organic gourmet products, we will see more and more companies serving your needs; don’t be afraid to ask! That’s how the companies that already exist will be able to change their habits and give the world more and more great organic gourmet foods.
Our plan here at find-great-organic-gourmet-foods.com is to locate and share with you all the resources there are, as they become available.
We would love it if you would help -- tell us about the new companies and entrepreneurs starting up such services, and we will share it here with everyone. Thanks for helping us become the BEST organic gourmet foods resource on the Internet!
