Weight Loss

Weight loss is an important primary or secondary benefit you get when you eat a regular diet of organic gourmet foods.

If your goal is to lose weight, you can achieve it best if you are eating foods that promote good digestion, metabolism, and nourish your body.

Why make your body work harder than in has to? Stop clogging your arteries, dumping unwanted chemicals into your system, and throwing your natural hormonal balance off kilter.

Regardless of any latest fad or controversy, I doubt that you will find any doctor, nutritionist, or diet and fitness expert who will tell you that organic food is bad for you.

On the contrary, you may be encouraged to eat more wholesomely in every way. And, if you are going to eat the best food you can find, in order to achieve your weight or fitness goals, why not have the food you eat taste as great as it can? That will make your weight-loss project fun and easy to do.

Diet food does not have to taste bad and be a torment to follow; why would anyone want to stay on a regimen like that? That’s why there are so many failures at dieting ~ and why many experts say that dieting just plain does not work.

People who have lost significant amounts of weight, and kept it off afterward, share some common things:

1) They eat smaller portions.

2) They burn more calories than they consume (which usually means that they exercise regularly, even if it’s only to walk several times a week.)

3) They eat what they like, and avoid eating foods that they know will lead to weight gain over time. This is NOT to say that they will not occasionally indulge in a favorite “no-no” such as ice cream or cake; but when they do, it might be organic ice cream and cake made with organic ingredients. And they will return to their usual, healthy diet immediately after, not use the occasion as an excuse to continue “indulging.”

One interesting feature that most people who have been successful at losing and keeping weight off is that once they have changed what kinds of food they eat (sometimes going on a deliberate detox program such as fasting, in order to cleanse the body of some of its toxins and chemicals), they are surprised to discover that they no longer crave “bad” foods.

For instance, if you have been eating too much fat and sugar, when you start eating more fresh vegetables and fruit, and reduce the quantity of white sugar and starch, you may no longer be so interested in foods that are not really good for you. Wouldn’t that be a nice bonus?

I know this is possible because I experience it myself, whenever I change my eating patterns to food types that I feel are more in line with the health I wish to achieve. For instance, now I can hardly bear the thought of fried foods; they just are not very appealing to me.

But steamed veggies and a wonderful organic risotto? Give me some (a small portion will do nicely, thank you. . . ) Oh, and I’ll have the fresh fruit and a small slice of artisanal cheese for dessert, with a nice cup of organic tea.

What will your palate discover, that will keep your weight where you want it, and taste wonderful besides?
